On one hand, Ghost Squad is one of the top light gun games in the last five years, and is a no-brainer for any purebred shooter fan. On the other, it's a game that released in arcades back in 2004.

As they progress, they can unlock new weapons as well as uniforms and stage routes, depending on their performance. Each of the three stages also have sequences where they must use the action button to complete certain tasks, such as securing hostages, defusing bombs/mines, or fighting enemies in hand-to-hand combat.

Others involve eliminating targets using a sniper rifle; failing to complete sniper sections will result with a health penalty.The Evolution version of the game already has much of the unlockables available from the start.Why it Rocks. A surprising amount of customization and unlockables, especially by light gun game standards, as detailed above. The ability to save your progress, which is unique considering that usually only the console ports of original arcade versions feature a saving system. Fast paced and innovative gameplay. Decent graphics by 2004 standards. The Wii port, despite having a slower framerate, looks just as good as the arcade version.
Catchy soundtrack. The Wii version has even more features, such as three different game modes, including a training mode.Bad Qualities. The U.S.
Version removed the card feature (which lets you level up your character until level 16 and unlock new weapons) from the International and Japanese versions of the game because people liked to jam coins into the card slots. Thankfully, GHOST Squad Evolution averted this in American arcades which players can now access to weapons and costumes that were originally unlocked from leveling up until level 16 such as Guardian II from Virtua Cop 2 and such.
